Our Ministries
A group of our members travel annually to Honduras, where they conduct a medical mission. We were happy to welcome them home when they recently returned safely from this year's mission.
ACTS: Honduras is a diocesan wide ministry to the impoverished mountain Hondurans. Since 1998 the team has returned annually to conduct a general medical clinic and optical clinic. Each year the team consists of 24 people and will serve over 1,000 villagers.
The 7 day mission leaves on the second Friday of January each year. Team members are not only doctors and nurses, but possess a variety of skills. If you would like more information, contact Georgia West at 308-9013 or Dwain West at 308-2091.
Team members are responsible for travel expenses and supplies. Typically this is $1350.
In October and November, parishioners will fill shoe boxes with small gifts for children around the world who will otherwise receive no gift at Christmas. This has become one of our favorite ministries.
Daughters of the King pray daily for those for whom prayers have been requested. Their ministries include providing receptions before or after funerals at the church, knitting or crocheting prayer shawls which are given to those in need of comfort, and delivering altar flowers to shutins. Some members also serve on the Honduras mission team.
The Brotherhood of St. Andrew's is a group of men whose intent is to live as disciples of Jesus Christ. They pray, study, and do whatever is needed at St. Timothy's. They may be found painting or repairing or cooking for one of the congregational meals. Some of the Brothers are members of the Honduras Mission Team.
The Altar Guild is responsible for preparing the altar for services. They set out the linens and vessels, clean up after the services, and launder the linens.
The Flower Guild assigned for the month consults with those donating the flowers, buys the flowers, arranges them on Saturdays, and breaks them into smaller arrangements on Sunday after the final service. Daughters of the King deliver the arrangements to the sick and shutin.
